Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she moved to Oxfordshire in the age group of five, Emma was enrolled in the Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma was aware that she wanted to become an actress. Over a number of years she attended the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theater school, where she learned singing dancing and acting. At the age of 10, she was performing and taking as the main character in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been chosen for these roles. They cast her alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film appearance came alongside Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It set new records for beginning-day and weekend-opening sales and was the highest-grossing film in the year 2001. The film has been praised by critics for its film, as well as the performances of its three major young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an important British paper, called Emma's portrayal "amazing". In the following days, Emma was nominated for five awards for her performance in the film and was awarded the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film.
